About Our Worship

All people, regardless of their background, family structure, gender, ethnicity, age, or disability status are welcome to attend our services! Here is some basic information about worship.

As a part of the United Church of Christ and the Congregational tradition, we follow a basic order of worship that includes hymns, prayer, scripture readings, sermons, offerings, and benediction. Our service is formal in structure but informal in attitude!

We set aside time to greet each other during worship and share prayer requests (both celebrations and concerns).

All worshipers can celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of the month with bread and grape juice.

Worship is followed by coffee, tea, snacks, and conversation in Fellowship Hall. Sometimes it's enough food for lunch!

We have occasional guest speakers from our mission partners and after-church discussions on various topics.

Children of all ages are welcome in all parts of worship! We have a dedicated Children's Moment about 20 minutes into the service, followed by Sunday School (during the school year) or a children's activity. We also have a Nursery for children aged 4 and under that is staffed between 9:30 and 11:30.

We have a fully accessible parking lot behind the church. From Pulteney Street, turn on to Pritchard Ave. and take the first right into the lot.

A: Come as you are! Keep in mind our church is heated but not air-conditioned.

Our church building is all on one level and has an accessible bathroom. The only stairs are from the Pulteney Street entrance into the sanctuary hallway and into the altar area from the sanctuary and the back hallway. The door from the parking lot is automated with a flat entry from the lot to the sidewalk and into the building. We use microphones during worship and presentations and can make large-print bulletins on request. You may bring your service dog into all areas of the church. If additional accommodations are needed, please contact our Pastor.

We use The New Century Hymnal, the recommended hymnal for the United Church of Christ. It features traditional and modern music with inclusive language. From September to June our Chancel Choir perform anthems during worship and special music for Christmas and Easter. We also have a Bell Choir that performs service music every 6-8 weeks. Our keyboardist accompanies hymns and the Chancel Choir on our Flentrop pipe organ or grand piano, and sometimes other instruments are included.

We offer free wifi throughout the building. We do ask that all electronic devices be set to silent mode during worship.

Each Sunday service is live-streamed over Zoom. If you would like to receive a link, please email the office. We also record our sermons, which can be viewed on the Sermons page.

Service dogs are welcome! Other dogs are allowed but must be on a leash or in a crate. Owners are responsible for their dog’s actions. To reduce the risk of allergic reactions, no other types of pets are allowed in the building.
