Rev. Henry Pascual has been a pastor since 1990. Raised in the United Church of Christ in the Philippines, Henry felt called to ordained ministry after high school, inspired by his pastor and love for the church. First, however, he went to a Baptist seminary for theological education. He has pastored Baptist churches in the Philippines and the United States.
As his theology changed, Henry left the Baptist denomination and sought authorized ministry in the United Church of Christ, where he found an extravagant welcome and a safe place to practice ministry. He came to the First Congregational United Church of Christ of Corning from a UCC church in Massachusetts.
He and his wife, Des, were seminary classmates. Together, they raised three daughters and a son. For him, a good sabbath would include walking, country driving, reading, movies, and cooking his favorite Filipino food.
