Whether you are a long-time churchgoer seeking a new home, or trying a church on for size for the very first time, we want you to feel comfortable and welcome.
Here is what you can expect when you join us for Sunday worship at the First Congregational United Church of Christ Corning:
We hold our services, in the airy, modern sanctuary of our A-frame buiding at 171 West Pulteney Street in Corning. When you arrive, you'll receive a warm greeting on your way into the sanctuary. If you have children, our greeters will help guide you with options available to them during worship. Options include nursery care for infants and toddlers beginning at 9:45am, Sunday School for ages three and older following Kinder Tinder (children's message), or children are welcome to stay with their caregivers in the sanctuary.
As you enter the sanctuary, an usher will give you the Sunday bulletin, which contains an outline of the worship service as well as announcements about church and community activities.
During worship, worship leaders and the pastor will guide you through the service, following the order listed in the bulletin. We offer many opportunities for participation throughout the service including the passing of the peace (which is a time to greet one another), Kinder Tinder (children's moment), hymn singing, sharing of joys and concerns, offering, and monthly communion. Our worship service typically lasts around an hour.
Please join us after worship in the Fellowship Hall for fair trade coffee, conversation, and light snacks.
